Bekannt dafür meherer Instrumente gleichzeitig zu spielen, gibt Roland Kirk nach seinem ersten Schlaganfall, welcher ihn halbseitig lähmt, weiterhin Konzerte auf denen er nur mit seiner linken Hand spielt. Die unglaublich starke Lebenskraft die ihn antreibt, ist in seiner Musik zu hören. Seine Aufnahmen bleiben eine nie versiegende Quelle von Inspiration daher möchte ich diesen Abend der Musik und Spielfreude des Saxophonisten und Flötisten Rahsaan Roland Kirk's widmen.
