The Jakob Helling Vienna Jazz Orchestra brings together some of the most exciting minds on the Viennese jazz scene. Under Jakob Helling's direction, the result is a fireworks display of local big band and improvisational artistry.

Jakob Helling, born in Bielefeld in 1990, is not only a trumpeter but also a composer and arranger for large ensembles. Having called Austria his home for more than 10 years now, it was time to found an ensemble based here.

An ensemble that is aware of the origins of the jazz orchestra or big band line-up, but throws itself into the action without blinders, open to the world.

Look forward to a brand new program that will celebrate its premiere at Porgy! (Jaskob Helling)
