Christoph Cech and his orchestra play their way through colorful musical landscapes that are free from any stylistic constraints. There is no shortage of gripping dramatic moments that build up like waves, or solo interludes ranging from dignified to artistic, which nestle perfectly and atmospherically into the slowly building tension.
The action is defined by an incredibly lively back and forth, ranging from haunting, calm, and soulful quiet passages to wonderfully intense outbursts and rock interludes to offbeat experiments, funky tunes, and fat brass sections. What is particularly impressive is the ease with which the orchestra plays through the demanding pieces, how it allows Christoph Cech's stories to flow and gives the immense musical diversity an accessible and, above all, very harmonious form.
Christoph Cech and his jazz orchestra deliver a musical spectacle in a class of its own, one that leaves no one untouched and truly captivates in the most beautiful way. The sound, the pieces, and the melodies that are brought to the listener's ears invite them to dive deeper and let themselves be carried away—through a musical world that simply amazes.
