Alex Miksch sounds like Tom Waits and the late Leonard Cohen. The narrative mechanics are convoluted, the atmosphere smoky. The songs let time crumble away. Some blaze with revolutionary fervor, others glow with promise.
With his unconditional emotionality, Miksch, born in Krems in 1967, is an anachronism. Despite wildly fluctuating musical scales, Miksch's ghosts elegantly linger in the ear. Miksch impressively embodies the blues, a musical style that is both pain and salvation from it.
