Based on a 3 AM decision late 2011 Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin expanded their trio Fire! into an orchestra, inviting musicians from the worlds of jazz, improv and rock.
After numerous tours, in various formats, the Orchestra has now established it’s present 19-piece line-up. In April 2015 they premiered a new piece: RITUAL - performing it at the major European jazzfestivals over the summer.
Conductions, free improvisations, burst of spontaneous horns, bizarre slide instruments, keyboard frenzy, abstract electronic infusions, roaring guitar mayhem and voices from heaven and hell meet in an outburst like nothing else ever heard before.
A studio recording of Ritual will be released in the spring
