For the past ten years Genovese has partnered with Esperanza Spalding, on one of the most dazzling musical journeys of recent times. He left his imprint on Spalding's three international releases and every tour since 2005 until 2015, and earned a place on the Grammy's stage with her.

He has starred jaw-dropping projects with jazz giants as the Spring Quartet (Joe Lovano, Jack DeJohnette, Esperanza Spalding and Leo Genovese) and the quintet composed by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Esperanza Spalding, Terri Lynne Carrington and himself.

His new adventure is a trio album, recorded last September and backed by Esperanza Spalding (bass) and Jack deJohnette (dr), due to release via Newvelle Records in 2016.

After headlining six nights at the Village Vanguard, the world's jazz Mecca, Genovese presents his trio project in Europe next May/June 2016, accompanied by Francisco Mela (J. Lovano, McCoy Tyner, E. Spalding, K. Barron) on drums and Demian Cabaud on double bass.
