The ensemble, which has maintained nearly the same lineup since 1988, has always been known for its groovy Afro-Latin rhythms, deeply emotional ballads, and driving straight-ahead jazz. Prominent collaborators such as Idris Muhammad, Leo Wright, Franz Hautzinger, Lorenz Raab, and Ilse Riedler have consistently and significantly enriched the band’s sound.
This time, the invitation goes out to Ola Asdahl Rokkones, one of the most distinguished saxophonists on Norway’s top-tier music scene. A highly virtuosic alto saxophonist in classical and contemporary art music, he is also an excellent jazz saxophonist with an earthy, resonant tone on the tenor saxophone. An exciting evening of music is in store!
