This trio brings together three distinctive voices from the international creative music scene. Saxophonist Ole Mathisen, guitarist Kenji Herbert, and kanun player Sofia Labropoulou come together in a constellation where jazz, improvisation, modal traditions, and contemporary sound exploration converge.

About Unbounded Sounds Music series - 2026:
Unbounded Sounds is a Vienna-based music series curated by kanun player, composer, and improviser Sofia Labropoulou. The project is dedicated to musical encounters that transcend genre boundaries and cultural conventions.

Each concert brings together internationally acclaimed artists with Austrian and Austria-based established musicians in collaborative settings that foreground modal traditions, experimental approaches, improvisation, and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The series treats sound as a living, evolving material, shaped through listening, interaction, and artistic risk. In doing so, Unbounded Sounds contributes to Austria’s pluralistic contemporary music scene and opens new pathways for cross-cultural collaboration and sonic exploration.
