The program brings us Django's style and more modern pieces. Since Biréli and Wawau are very good friends, we can look forward to seeing what happens musically on stage! The styles of the two guitarists differ in their own ideas and diversity. Biréli Lagrène is considered the “devil's hero of the guitar.” The exceptional French guitarist is the king of jazz guitarists and has played with all the greats of his genre, from Al Di Meola to John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía to Larry Coryell. In Germany, he was labeled the successor to Django Reinhardt at the age of 14.Wawau Adler is internationally regarded as a gypsy jazz guitarist in a class of his own. Born Josef Adler in Karlsruhe in 1967, he discovered the guitar at the age of nine. He gave his first concerts at the age of 13. Now considered one of the best gypsy jazz guitarists in the world, Adler initially devoted himself intensively to jazz manouche or gypsy swing, the first jazz style to emerge in Europe. Belgian-born guitarist Django Reinhardt achieved world fame in the 1930s with this jazz style he created. (Press release)
