NIKOLA ZARIC goes solo
Between Balkan tradition and musical freedom
When Nikola Zarić plays his accordion, the melodies of the Balkans, pulsating rhythms, and an unmistakable musical expressiveness come together. Deeply rooted in Serbian folk music, the Viennese accordionist opens up worlds of sound full of passion, melancholy, and exuberant joie de vivre. With virtuoso ease and a keen sense for the nuances, Zarić explores the many facets of his instrument. A solo performance that bridges tradition and the present, combining rousing energy with poetic depth—and an invitation to experience the fascinating diversity of Balkan music up close.
Tomas Liska Quartet
Invisible World—with a rich palette of emotional nuances
Tomáš Liska’s “Invisible World” is a unique project in the landscape of contemporary jazz and world music. The project combines elements of jazz and chamber music with influences from the Mediterranean region and Southeast Europe. At its core are strong melodies, interwoven with a subtle and seemingly effortless tapestry of improvisations. The band has been nominated in the jazz category for the Anděl Awards—the Czech equivalent of the Grammys—for each of its studio albums, and the albums *Hope* and *Holy Grail* have also won awards. (Press release)
“A sophisticated blend of influences from the Old and New Worlds, including Turkish violin, Balkan accordion, and a dash of Tango Nuevo. The result leaves plenty of room for both listeners and musicians. A great opportunity for musical adventurers.” (Petr Dorůžka, world music journalist & discoverer)
