A brilliant wordsmith and one of the most powerful voices in German-language hip-hop, Munich-born musician, host, and author Nina Sonnenberg—aka Fiva—has been actively shaping Central European pop music for many years. Her debut novel, *Das Herz, ein Wolf*, will be published by btb in September 2026.

The recipient of the Bavarian Culture Prize, with roots in poetry slam, has been collaborating with Philipp Nykrin since the production of the album “Alles leuchtet,” which Nykrin produced in 2014 together with Stephan Kondert and Herbert Pirker. He is also part of her current live band—performing at numerous Fiva shows as well as at the “Salon Sonnenberg,” a regularly held, always sold-out event she curates at Munich’s Volkstheater.

On this evening, the two will present a full-length duo program for the first time, consisting of a “best of” from their previous collaborations and music newly composed by Nykrin for this evening.

A drum set enhanced with electronic components, combined with several electronic keyboard instruments that also cover the bass function, creates an enormously multi-layered and versatile band sound—one that, in terms of power and sonic diversity, is usually reserved for larger ensembles.

A drum set enhanced with electronic components, combined with several electronic keyboard instruments that also cover the bass line, creates an incredibly rich and versatile band sound—one that, in terms of power and sonic diversity, is usually reserved for larger ensembles.

As such a “minimal rhythm section with maximum impact,” Nykrin and Pirker have already made numerous appearances, for example in Nykrin’s and Fabian Rucker’s joint project Purple Muscle Car, in performances with Fiva, or in trio formations with guitarist Severin Trogbacher or trumpeter Lorenz Raab.

Here, this duo lineup stands on its own: armed with newly composed music that combines the consistency, precision, and courage for minimalism of sequence-based electronic music with the openness and spontaneity of contemporary improvised music.
