21:00 TON.ART Under Kuratel

1st Set: Cool Fakes & Cold Originals

2nd Set: Zur freien Entnahme

TON.ART will function until year's end as a Stage Band -- or better yet, as a "virtual stage band" because TON.ART hardly plays at all...rather it "allows itself" to be played. Not due to vanity but rather thanks to unself-serious self-styling and deconstruction, TON.ART mixes irony and camouflage to create a bellyful of musical and extra-musical peculiarities.

1. Festive Opening of the Exhibit "DADA & BRAVO": Memorabilia, Embarrassments and Curiosities from the private archives of TON.ART

2. "Cool Fakes & Cold Originals": A drummerless yet finely-sprung trio led by TON.ART saxophonist Bernhard Spahn plays Westcoast and Cool Jazz classics by Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz, Lennie Tristano, Warne Marsh, Jimmy Giuffre and TON.ART (sic!)

3. "Zur freien Entnahme" (Free for the Taking): A priceless gem from last month's junket from London to Vienna. The saxophone eccentric Walter Malli from Vienna and London's Lol Coxhill tackle the seemingly impossible task of creating rhymes out of a crude selection of TON.ART hits (?). Will the carefully fashioned TON.ART works be crushed and crumbled when the two junketers get hold of them? And ... is musical catatonia contagious? (Klaus Peham)
