When John Abercrombie crosses our threshold, we'll be welcoming a new style-forging guitarist into Porgy & Bess, one who secured a place for himself in jazz heaven already with his first team effort, "Timeless," with Jan Hammer next to Barney Kessel, Jim Hall and Tal Farlow. Alongside Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette he set another milestone with the Trio Gateway, which re-formed last year.
