Tues. 7 Nov.
21:00 Zingaro/Cora/Turner (Por/USA/GB)
Carlos Zingaro: violin, electronics
Tom Cora: cello
Roger Turner: drums
Carlos Zingaro is an improvisational violinist from Portugal, a land which lies outside the European jazz
nucleus. Zingaro experiments with electronics or makes music with electrotechnicians such as Richard
Teitelbaum, the sound-seeking computer and synthesizer freak. In addition, his co-work with the French
guitarist Jean-Luc Montera deserves mention. The trio Zingaro/Cora/Turner creates music which merits
careful listening and attention as it does not fit conventional molds. If it seems Vienna has little to offer in
terms of an improvisational jazz tradition, then it's time someone started making it! CH
