"Since 1987, the main players of Kadash have formed the orchestra of Switzerland's most unusual circus,
'Federlos.' During the long tours the circus-theater has made throughout Europe and Africa, the ensemble
has developed its own breed of musical expression -- the language of a wild nomadic genus, which
shamelessly couples within the whole range of musical experience. No sound is safe around Kadash:
improvised music, free jazz, rock, circus, theater, film music and all types of folk are mixed and paired in
rough and unconventional ways to form surprising new creations." (F. Flükiger)
Kadash am Berg (Kadash on the Mountain) is a "lyric-deliric" word concert, the verbal/musical portrayal of
a falling rock climber. The fall is interpreted as a "highly uncontrolled, chaotically structured series of
movements with an unclear ending." The musical transposition of this theme follows similar structures,
although an event of this type is impossible, artistically. CH
"... a vertical Alptraum, cliff-hanger, bad dream; a musical somersault, textual tumor; a whirring
substratum, marl-pit of quotations; verbal rubble -- in short, an Edelweiß which howls!" (M. Gneis-Granitzki)
