21:00 The Mao Tse Toung Noise Project(Paris)

Akchoté represents the generation artists who appear to have shaken off all musical limitations, who find purist sectarianism just as foreign as exclusive purity of style and who would welcome bebop into their music cosmos as easily as they'd welcome improvised music or rock. Akchoté is a postmodern eclectic par excellence, irreverent but nonetheless authentic. Musically, for him anything's possible: He often works with the English improviser Derek Bailey but also hangs out with Chet Baker; he cooperates frequently with the French bass legend Henri Texier but has also teamed up with pianist Bojan Z. to make Bosnian folk music. With his trio, The Recyclers, he has moved into the performance arena whereas with his new group, The Mao Tse Toung Noise Project, he blasts conventional musical frameworks to make room for experimention with sounds and noise.
