21:00 Daniel Humair Quartet feat. Franco Ambrosetti (CH/I)

Ever since the turn of the century, Paris has been the mecca for Swiss artists who then -- as in the case of Jean Luc Godard or Daniel Humair -- are often taken for French themselves. One of the mentors of the Paris scene is Europe's best "amateur" -- a trumpet-playing industrialist from Lugano who never practices but always performs brilliantly. On this occasion, Italian pianist Farao will introduce a non-Swiss element into this Helvetian phalanx which, with G. Gruntz on piano, normally goes by the name of "The Swiss Leaders" and which, with Känzig's churning bass, is a constant reminder of the meaning of "real jazz". MR
